Internships
Pro Bono Counseling offers undergraduate and graduate level internships. Undergraduate internships are usually one or two semesters in duration; the graduate internship must continue for at least a full academic year. Summer internships are also available.
Nominal stipends may be offered for internships.
For Undergraduates
The undergraduate-level internship is designed for students pursuing a degree in counseling, social work, psychology, public health, or related field. Interns will help with case management by managing and updating resources for clients, assisting with interviewing clients in treatment to gather qualitative and quantitative information, and presenting cases to volunteer therapists. Based upon intern’s interests and organization needs, interns may also update clinical resources, contribute to newsletter and blog, attend coalition meetings.
For Graduate Students
The graduate-level internship is a clinical experience designed for students of psychology, social work, and professional counseling. Interns will gain experience in conducting intake interviews and documenting services. Under the supervision of a board-approved clinician, interns will also provide therapy to clients in a private practice setting.
