In the case of major infectious disease outbreaks, including the COVID-19 pandemic, emergency response is the principal focus for policymakers and practitioners, while the question of “what comes next” – such as longer processes of restoration and transformation – typically trails off into obscurity. Dr. Schoch-Spana will consider what a community’s post-pandemic recovery could or should look like.
