Course Descriptions: Clinical Considerations for Intimate Partner Violence in the COVID-19 Era will provide an evidence-based framework for IPV screening, assessment, and intervention with special attention to unique issues related to COVID-19. Caregiving for Veterans in the Time of COVID will provide an outline of the unique characteristics of veteran caregivers and their needs with special attention to the impact and unique issues related to COVID-19

Learning Objectives:

Clinical Considerations for Intimate Partner Violence in the COVID-19 Era

• Identify different types of IPV, risk factors for experiencing violence, and unique issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic

• Identify the goals and evidence-based strategies for IPV screening, assessment, and intervention, including ways to alter these processes in the context of COVID-19

• Identify clinical considerations and strategies for telehealth, safety plans, clinician safety, and documentation within COVID-19 limitations

Caregiving for Veterans in the time of COVID

• Identify unique characteristics of veteran caregivers in comparison with non-veteran caregivers

• Describe the impact COVID-19 has had on caregivers and the resources they depend on

• Identify strategies to reduce caregiver stress and burnout with special consideration to the impact of COVID 19

Workshop registrants will receive a code prior to the webinar to log on to Zoom and participate in the online session.

IMPORTANT: Attendance will be monitored. Participants must be logged on to the meeting by the workshop start time and participate in the entire event in order to earn CE credit.

The Pro Bono Counseling Project is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Pro Bono Counseling Project maintains responsibility for this program and its content. The Maryland Boards of Social Work Examiners and Professional Counselors and Therapists (pending) certify that this program meets the criteria for two credit hours of continuing education for social workers, professional counselors, and therapists licensed in Maryland.

CE credit is granted to participants with documented attendance at individual workshops and completed evaluation forms for those sessions. Attendance is monitored. Credit will not be granted to registrants who log on late or depart early from a session. It is the responsibility of registrants to comply with these requirements.
